While we were at our DA meet at Bramblewood, we had the unique experience of having seven old Liverpool Youth members on site. Of the seven, six were three couples who had met and married whilst in our Youth section and are all still happily married and camping. I know I go on about my indebtedness to belonging to the CCY, but this proves that REAL and lasting relationships and friendships that can develop.

I've just got the very sad news that one of ex committee members has sadly passed away. Keith Illingworth and his family were a solid part of DA a number of years ago and he was an avid traveller, we sometimes met up at FICC rallies around Europe. He owned and drove a superbly maintained Ford (I think it could have been a Zodiac) and we met him occasionally at St Andrews Church Maghull where he was an essential and welcoming member of their team. He was 92.

Last weekend, our DA had booked the Club site at Leek for the first time and Tracey and I were going. The weather on the journey was terrible and expectations were not very high. We were greeted by a very friendly Site Manager before being handed over to our own Steward, Julie. The site is exactly what you expect, picturesque, clean, tidy and quiet. The nearby town of Leek, only two miles with a Bus Stop near the gate, and what a great place it is. Lots of independent shops and a very good market. There was a music festival on, with over 50 artists performing in 15 venues and all FREE. Plenty to do nearby and if you avoid the M6 car park, it's a pleasant drive home of fewer3-night than 60 miles, which is OK for a 3 night meet. I'm now convinced that this is a site... Read more

A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who helped make our Centenary Meet at Victoria Park the very best it could have been. Whether you were one of the team or one of the campers, thank you. I'm looking at booking the site for the same weekend in 2121, what do you think?

Hi All, Thanks to you that volunteered help with assisting Stewards to site vans and generally helping out. We still need more, the more help the less we all have to do. Reminder to all who haven't fully paid, fees need to be in full to qualify for the £100 draw. Cheers and Happy Camping.
